Vanuatu payroll, calculated correctly
Core365 Payroll handles VNPF, overtime bands, leave, notice, severance and final pay under Vanuatu rules — with the working shown on every payslip and a Business Central journal at the end of the run.
Why a Vanuatu-specific payroll
Generic payroll does not know these rules
Most payroll software is built for Australia, New Zealand or further afield, and Vanuatu employers end up calculating VNPF, severance and the one-third deduction cap by hand in a spreadsheet beside it. Core365 Payroll puts those rules in the engine, effective-dated, so a rule change is a setting rather than a rebuild.
VNPF
Contributions at 6% plus 6% from January 2026, calculated per employee rather than applied as a flat assumption.
Overtime bands
Banded overtime calculated from hours entered against the run, not reconciled afterwards.
Severance and final pay
Notice, severance and final pay handled by the engine, with the working shown so an employee can see how a figure was reached.
One-third deduction cap
The cap applied automatically, so deductions cannot quietly take an employee below the floor.
Minimum wage check
Every run checked against the minimum wage, flagging anyone below it before the run is approved.
Effective-dated rules
Each rule carries its source and status, so when the law changes you change a dated setting rather than waiting on a release.
The pay run
A run you can see the state of
Step bar and summary
The run moves through clear states, with a summary strip rather than a spreadsheet you scroll.
Ready, needs attention, blocked
Every person carries a status chip and the change against last month, so outliers surface before approval rather than after payment.
Payslip with the working
A side panel showing how each figure was reached — the fastest way to answer a payroll query.
Approval without self-approval
Six roles, and nobody can approve their own work. A run can be sent back, and an approved run is frozen.
Journal and bank file
A balanced journal prepared and posted to Business Central account mappings, plus a bank file with exceptions listed.
VNPF schedule
The VNPF schedule and payment record produced as part of the run, then period close.
Questions
Common questions
Is this only for Vanuatu?
The rules engine is built for Vanuatu — VNPF, local overtime bands, severance and the one-third cap. Other jurisdictions would need their own rule set. If you operate across the Pacific, talk to us about what is involved.
Does it work with Core365 People?
Yes. Payroll sits beside Core365 People as a separate product with its own database, sharing only the HR contracts. HR changes arrive through a validated inbox rather than a direct database link.
Can it post to Business Central?
Yes. The run prepares a balanced journal against your Business Central account mappings and posts it, so payroll and finance stay aligned without re-keying.
What happens when a rule changes?
Rules are effective-dated settings with their source recorded, so a change takes effect from the date you set rather than requiring a new version of the software.
Can a run be reversed?
Yes. A run can be sent back before approval, and reversed after. Approved runs are frozen so figures cannot be edited behind an approval.
How is access controlled?
Six roles with no self-approval, sign-in with lockout after five failed attempts, tenant isolation by row-level security and an append-only audit log.
