Business Central · Payday Super

Payday Super, handled automatically

Super must now reach the fund within seven business days of every payday. SuperLink calculates qualifying earnings, validates funds and dispatches contributions via SuperStream — with a countdown so nothing slips.

What changed

Every pay run is now a super deadline

Under Payday Super, contributions are tied to each pay run rather than a quarterly cycle. That turns a four-times-a-year task into one that repeats every fortnight or week, and it shortens the window for catching a rejected fund or a wrong calculation. Missing the window creates a superannuation guarantee charge liability, which is not tax deductible.

Qualifying earnings

Calculated per employee including salary sacrifice, so the base the contribution is built on is right before anything is sent.

SuperStream dispatch

Contributions are dispatched through SuperStream directly, without exporting a file to another system.

Fund validation

Funds are checked against the ATO Fund Validation Service, so an invalid or closed fund is caught before dispatch rather than after rejection.

7-day countdown

A dashboard showing each pay run and how long remains in its seven-business-day window.

SGC exposure calculator

If a payment is late, see the charge exposure rather than discovering it at year end.

Works beyond Business Central

Questions

Common questions

What is Payday Super?

It requires employers to pay superannuation at the same time as salary and wages, rather than quarterly. The contribution must reach the employee’s fund within seven business days of payday. Check the ATO guidance for how the rules apply to your circumstances.

What happens if a payment is late?

A late contribution creates a superannuation guarantee charge liability, which includes the shortfall, interest and an administration component, and is not tax deductible. SuperLink’s exposure calculator shows the cost of a missed window.

Does it work if payroll is not in Business Central?

Yes. SuperLink also works with Xero, KeyPay and MYOB payroll data, so you can keep your existing payroll and still use it for calculation, validation and dispatch.

Does it handle salary sacrifice?

Yes. Qualifying earnings are calculated per employee including salary sacrifice arrangements.

What if an employee’s fund details are wrong?

Fund details are checked against the ATO Fund Validation Service before dispatch, so an invalid USI or closed fund is flagged while you still have time to correct it.

Is there a trial?

Yes, a free 30-day trial through Microsoft AppSource.
